Restaurants, Parks, and Activities in Effingham County

A great way to take in Effingham County is by kayak or canoe. You can cruise the Savannah or Ogeechee rivers for miles. Common wildlife you’ll see includes deer, osprey, eagles, and herons. Springfield is considered the “heart of Effingham” and the county seat. Its historic Main Street, friendly neighbors, and sweet southern hospitality make it a great place to call home. Rincon is another Effingham County town that is small, but big in spirit. In Rincon, you can golf at the Lost Plantation Golf Club, which is an 18-hole championship course. According to the city of Rincon, it’s been chosen as the “#1 city in all of Georgie for young families”. For old-fashioned Southern cooking, we recommend The Tin Fin in Rincon. It has fresh seafood dishes, crab stew, and fried okra.
